THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Talesai Restaurant Review:

Rockers playing the nearby Roxy and other Sunset Strip denizens are part of the crowd who frequent Talésai, launched by Prakas Yenbamroong and mother-chef Vilai in 1983. Start with Hidden Treasures: shrimp, crab meat and scallops braised with chilies, coconut milk and Thai basil. The menu refers to the barbecued chicken marinated in coconut milk and spiced with ginger and turmeric as “heavenly,” and that’s no exaggeration. We also like the shrimp curry, duck in red curry paste and pad thai noodles tossed with chicken, shellfish and a punchy peanut sauce. Also located at 11744 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, 818-753-1001; and Café Talésai at 9198 W. Olympic Blvd., Beverly Hills, 310-271-9345.
