Tamarind Tribeca Restaurant Review:

Down in the lower reaches of TriBeCa in a cavernous bi-level space on a quiet corner, you'll find this upscale Indian restaurant. The décor is sleek yet comfortable, the air is civilized and the service is restrained to match. Though the wine list is extensive and widely priced for those with money to spare, don't overlook the cocktails. Clean and balanced, the ginger and pepper martini is a good palate cleanser. The menu, separated by things land and sea, contains classic Indian dishes but with an elegant lift, such as in the chicken tikka masala. Samosas dotted with pomegranate, and bataki kosha, a duck rice paper-wrapped egg roll served with black salt and tangerine chutney, are satisfying starters. Portions are large; the peppercorn-crusted sea bass is enough for two. Whether you’re looking for something familiar or new, if refinement is your goal, you'll be satisfied with Tamarind Tribeca's offerings.
