ThirstyBear Brewing Company & Spanish Cuisine Restaurant Review:

This zesty brewpub with a Spanish accent has proved popular with young office workers and singles. The look has changed, warming up the formerly industrial chic look with soft lighting, distressed wood and rich fabrics accenting the exposed brick walls. Like the two floors that make up its dining room, Thirsty Bear's food has had its ups and downs. The menu blends Spanish flavors with California freshness. An evening of traditional tapas includes omelet-like tortilla Española, crispy calamari with romesco aïoli, and albóndigas---plump meatballs topped with queso fresca and sofrito. Those with a preference toward appetizers and entrées will appreciate a variety of salads as well as the braised rock cod, grilled New York steak and the roasted chicken breast with chorizo. Paella makes both a traditional meat and seafood showing as well as in a version laden with butternut squash, wild mushrooms and Swiss chard. Thirsty Bear is primarily a brewpub with handcrafted ales and lagers so don't forget to indulge in a frosty, cold pint.
