THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tickets Restaurant Review:

This surreal space is divided into six sections, playfully decorated with vintage theatre posters, red velvet ropes and burning bulbs that create a romantic air of circus-meets-cinema elegance. But peek a little closer at the candy floss stalls, where chefs prepare avant-garde tapas, and you’ll quickly see the intellect of the work. With Tickets, the Adrià brothers, Ferran and Albert, have brought democracy to Barcelona’s fine dining scene, maintaining their uncompromising approach to quality, innovation and service while making it accessible, family-friendly and even fun. Start with the “Spicy Lobster” and iconic “Tickets’ Olive-S,” which provide a mouth-filling explosion of molecular gastronomy. From the “Finger Foods” menu, try the “Rubia Gellega Air Baguette” --- it was one of the biggest hits at Ferran’s elBulli --- and oyster with passion fruit caipirinha. Essential tapas dishes include steamed razor clams with peanut, mushrooms and coconut sauce; rabbit and sea cucumber; and Catalan maresme green peas with fennel jus and pancetta. Sip on Riojas from the Luis Cañas bodega, which bring well-rounded Gran Reservas and Crianzas into the mix, the perfect companion for exploring new flavors. Celebrate with locally produced cavas from the Penedès region or keep it light and fresh with beers from Barcelona’s iconic Estrella Damm brewery. For dessert, order the pancakes with yogurt foam, maple syrup and blackberries compote or the “Crazy Coconut” with mint gelatine, passion fruit ice cream and coconut stracciatella, both of which carry the unmistakable Adrià hallmark.
