Tucker's Restaurant Restaurant Review:

Let's face it: On the outside, Tucker's Restaurant is not much to look at. But there's good reason to seek out a seat at the often-crowded place. Since 1946, it has made a name for itself as a better-than-decent diner. Not much inside has changed since then (though they do experiment with the menu). Tucker's still has tiny booths and a small grill, where a short-order cook cranks out the food. It remains family owned, and Carla Tucker --- one of the owners --- is quick to recommend her own chicken salad. Come for the massive omelets and serious BLTs. It's known for its breakfast menu, and if you're in the dessert mood, opt for the french toast with cinnamon and vanilla, or ask about the daily dessert specials and hope a cobbler is on the list. The fact that it's hard to even spend $10 on a meal bolsters its status as a no-frills fixture worth checking out.
