THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Umbria Prime Restaurant Review:

Umbria added “Prime” to its name and changed its focus from offering solely Italian dishes, ramping up the menu with beef, seafood and chops. The Financial District restaurant is housed on the first two floors, with the nightclub Ascend situated on floors three through five. Italian flair is evident in starters like colossal shrimp scampi tossed with lemon and white wine, crunchy calamari with spicy marinara and eggplant melanzane. For dinner, we recommend the roast chicken ravioli with wild mushrooms in a truffle cream sauce or house-made gnocchi with fresh basil. Corn- and grass-fed 35-day dry-aged certified Angus steaks (enormous 24-ounce bone-in cowboy rib-eyes or a 16-ounce New York sirloin) are seared in a brick oven that can be seen through the open kitchen; they pair well with a bold Cabernet. Like traditional steakhouses, Umbria Prime demands high prices for its steaks, with a 12-ounce filet topping the scale at $49. Sides are served à la carte and include cheese broiled mashed potatoes, roasted wild mushrooms and Parmesan creamed spinach. For dessert, try the cannoli or share a bowl of warm bread pudding.
