Venice Ristorante Italiano Restaurant Review:

A strip mall may seem an unlikely home for outstanding Italian food, but that’s just what you’ll find at Venice, a frequent haunt of Tech Center businessmen, wealthy Greenwood Village retirees and anniversary-celebrating lovebirds. All too often, large menus lack quality in their quantity, but chef Alessandro Carollo manages to do everything well here---from veal scallopine with lemon, capers and a Chardonnay sauce, to homemade ravioli filled with Gorgonzola and pears, to steaks that rival those from Denver’s best steakhouses. Even better, Venice pulls off the Italian staples that so many restaurants over-sauce, over-bread and over-think. The calamari is lightly crusted, the Caesar salad well-dressed, the ciabatta bread crusty on the outside and tender within, the marinara sauce positively addictive and the minestrone authentic and light. Indeed, soup is where Venice really excels. Whether it’s asparagus, cauliflower or Tuscan bean, the flavors are always fresh and true. A well-rounded wine list, decadent desserts (think pillowy crêpes filled with warm Nutella), gracious staff and an airy, elegant room with sunny, frescoed walls complete the experience.
