Viet Noodle Bar Restaurant Review:
Viet Noodle Bar is a no-frills spot for comforting, flavorful Vietnamese fare, specifically from the northern region. Wood-topped tables and green chairs fill the spartan space. Pho (rice noodle soup) comes in three variations: vegetarian, organic chicken and ginger fish (a popular choice). Dill and turmeric enhance the whitefish sandwich, served on French bread and loaded with cilantro, daikon, carrots and green onion. The simple menu also offers noodle dishes (lemongrass beef, for example), rice plates and sorbet for dessert. Prices are reasonable, considering this is Santa Monica. To drink, guests will find tea, Vietnamese iced coffee, several beers (including a few local options from Golden Road Brewing), saké and a limited wine list.
