THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Wallace Restaurant Review:

A project from husband-and-wife team chef Michael and Carol Teich, The Wallace in Culver City is a casual, American-style bistro that emphasizes local, sustainable sourcing. Passing by the small outdoor patio, you'll enter a large, rectangular space with a bar on one side and an open kitchen in the back. It can get loud in this rustic space, which features cement floors, wood-topped tables and Edison bulbs suspended from the exposed-duct ceiling. Start off with cured meats, cheeses or vegetable plates like grilled cauliflower. We found the albacore tartare with avocado, capers, Dijon, sesame soy and nori to be over-seasoned, but we were quite pleased with the short rib ravioli with braised greens, Parmesan butter and vincotto. Another solid option is the squid ink pasta loaded with local squid, roasted asparagus and bread crumbs. End the meal with salted caramel pudding. Craft cocktails, local craft beers on tap and boutique wines are also offered. Additional enticements include weekday happy hour from 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. and bottomless mimosas at brunch on the weekends. Service can be a little slow, but we like the easy, friendly atmosphere.
