The White Horse Restaurant Review:

Known affectionately to regulars as the Sloaney Pony, this classic pub has always focused on the food. It’s also built up a standout list of beers (over 60 unusual and worthwhile bottled varieties) as well as an impressive wine list with over 20 wines by the glass. Expect the likes of pheasant galantine with pumpkin and beetroot jus for starters, followed by chicken and mushroom pie with mash and curly kale, or pancetta-wrapped monkfish with potatoes, spinach and raisin butter sauce. Desserts revert rightly to the likes of fruit crumbles with custard, or go for the good British cheeses. All the dishes come with recommendations of beers; it’s quite an experience.
