Chef Cal Stamenov's elegant cuisine shines through at Wickets Bistro, though the setting is more casual than the epic production orchestrated at the Bernardus Lodge & Spa’s signature restaurant Marinus. This charming, comfortable dining spot offers seating either inside or near the fireplace on the terrace, just off the croquet court. Start with Beau Soleil oysters with ginger-shallot mignonette or one of the crispy brick-oven pizzas that change with the seasons. Vegetarian fare includes eggplant stew on polenta while home-style favorites run to grilled free-range chicken and bread salad. Many of the dishes feature organic produce from the chef's kitchen garden, and special care is taken to support local and sustainable farmers, foragers and fishermen.
