THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Wolf Restaurant Review:

"Top Chef" alum and local boy (via the Pacific Northwest, Spain and New York) Marcel Vigneron has come home to offer Angelenos his self-described "seasonal Los Angeles cuisine" at Wolf on Melrose. Oh yes, he was also at The Bazaar by José Andrés for a couple of years. (Beefsteak, which has a healthy angle, is located right next door.) The space is convivial and organic; in fact, Marcel had a lot to do with the décor and its execution. To maintain flavors and consistency, Vigneron has chosen to keep the menu short, very short. A handful of snacks, like beet and citrus salad and a hamachi crudo, are followed by a few plates, such as white miso black cod and braised veal cheeks, and sides. Don't pass up the crispy potatoes ... yes, the Kennebec tubers have seen some liquid nitrogen! You may dine at a table, at the bar or a small streetside lounge. While at the bar, pick up a Wolf in Sheeps Clothing vodka cocktail. The wine list is succinct but varied. A layered Not Your Grandma's Chocolate Cake or the airy blueberry soufflé with violet ice cream will do nicely for dessert.
