There's always something appealing on the menu at Zia Diner, whether you're in the mood for a heaping helping of meatloaf made with pine nuts and green chile or a huge, fresh salad loaded with vegetables. Chicken-fried steak, enchiladas, burgers, homemade soups, eggplant and zucchini Parmesan --- you name it, they serve it here. As for dessert, what diner would be worth its sugar without homemade triple-layer cakes and mile-high pies? On your birthday, the staff will even give you a slice on the house. Zia doesn't really fit the image of a diner. It's a modern restaurant with seating on multiple levels and a bar in back. Only the generous use of chrome around the space recalls the diner theme.
