The Aztec is the place to run into friends over a latte and a bagel. On weekends, people roll in late for caffeine fixes and to share "the Aztec," a bagel smothered with hummus, green chilies and avocado. With free WiFi, this is a good place to park yourself in a corner with a maté latte, made with zippy maté tea instead of espresso, and get work done, or labor over the crossword puzzle in the New York Times, which you can purchase along with a sandwich or salad. For meat-lovers, the Aztec makes a mean turkey Reuben, and all sandwiches are served with tortilla chips, a pickle and, most importantly, a smile. The vibe here is super-friendly---as long as you stay off your cell phone and don't try to put small tabs on a credit card.
