Azur Restaurant Review: Azur is the restaurant two friends (and seasoned chefs) dreamed up during long, wine-and-food-infused travels through Italy and the Mediterranean. The dishes and flavors radiate sunshine and sun-warmed earth, with ingredients imported when it matters (cheeses, cured meats, honey, olives, oils) and local when possible (Key West pink shrimp, black grouper). Start the day with Portuguese sweet-bread french toast with caramelized pears, honey, cured ham, mascarpone and candied pecans. Or, visit for the Sunday brunch. For lunch, try the crab cake BLT or steamed Mediterranean mussels in tomato broth. For dinner, the kitchen prepares a lovingly slow-cooked confit of magret duck leg with pork ribs chorizo and white beans; pan-roasted yellowtail snapper with shrimp and Swiss chard; and grilled whole branzino. Expect a wine list that’s as food-friendly and worldly as the restaurant’s owners. |
