| If you think tofu is that bland, blocky white stuff, think again. Tofu House serves tofu like you may never have experienced before---its soon doo boo is a bubbling casserole served in a stone pot, so hot it will cook the raw egg you drop into it. Get yours mild (plenty hot for many people) to spicy (not for the faint of esophagus), and choose from an assortment of ingredients: beef, pork, shrimp, clams, octopus, sausage and even cheese, all served by waitstaff who manage the whole process. Combinations with other Korean classics like bulgogi (grilled beef) and bibimbap (rice mixed with julienned vegetables and ground beef) are a great deal for just a few extra dollars. And, of course, there's the usual assortment of Korean side dishes and kimchi. This large, many-windowed place is more functional than fancy, though murals and hardwood ceilings lend a certain Korean rusticity. You're likely to have plenty of company both day and night. |
