THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Back to Basics Restaurant Review:
In an increasingly fashionable part of town that used to be at the heart of the rag trade and is now pretentiously known as Titchfield Village, Back to Basics has more than a usual natty and apt name. Basics means fish, that good food which much of the British public still ignores. Fishes come from around the world, from good old British plaice and crab to Atlantic prawns, monkfish and wild halibut and other varieties, all written on the blackboard. Starters run the gamut from fisherman’s soup to gravlax and salads. For the odd carnivore there's a “Fish not your Dish” section of the menu.
