Back Bay Ale House Restaurant Review

: Back Bay Ale House is located in a creaky clapboard home in Gardner’s Basin, but what it lacks in charm it makes up for in character. The menu is a mixed bag of dishes, such as the house specialty, cream of crab soup, lush with crab; Buffalo blue shrimp, a take on Buffalo wings; chicken fingers; and crab cakes. Some dishes have an island vibe, like the Caribbean jerk pork, a generous plate of pork shanks grilled and slathered with fiery jerk seasoning and juju sauce. There’s always music in the air, the buzz of conversation, friendly waitstaff and an endless stream of Old Bay potato fries that seem to accompany every dish. The view from the porches onto Gardner’s Basin with its many boats coming and going is an added treat. Lots of craft beers on tap keep bar customers happy.
