THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Back Door Bakery & Cafe Restaurant Review:

Deborah Gross used to sell her baked goods out the back door of her kitchen, hence the name. Come early, because her upscale version of a ding-dong (coated with chocolate and stuffed with mousse), lemon squares, chocolate cake, kugelhopf and filled croissants sell quickly, especially on weekends. Gross makes everything---from the ketchup and mayonnaise to the salad dressing and jam---fresh from scratch daily. Breakfast features homemade granola, cinnamon french toast and a giant fruit pancake with Vermont maple syrup. Kids like the egglettes; homesick grown-ups get the macaroni and cheese. Chef Armando Quejano serves up great salads, sandwiches and pastas for lunch and dinner.
