| The unexpected thing about this Albany eatery is that you can eat here every day for weeks, never repeat a dish, and never have a bagel. The menu includes sixteen different omelets, challah french toast, cheese blitzes, an array of smoked fish platters and dozens of massive sandwiches, grilled or cold. There is also an exhaustive amount of salads (the Greek is particularly fine) and Mediterranean specials (all with hummus and a green Israeli salad) plus the spicy meat-filled pastry "cigars." And if the novel-length menu doesn't inspire a long leisurely meal, then the homey, friendly atmosphere will. Of course, if you do opt for a bagel after all, there are numerous toppings to choose from. |
