Bailiwick Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Three environments include a game room with pool tables and shuffleboard, a bar with a stage where live music is performed and a more subdued dining room that is still close enough to hear the tunes being played. The setting is designed to evoke the look and feel of a repurposed 19th-century industrial building, with steel I-beam detailing, steel louvered entryway and a curated collection of antiques.

About the food and drinks: The kitchen turns out an extensive menu of snacks, six types of chips and fries, soups, chili and greens, sandwiches, burgers, flatbreads and large plates. Begin with Japanese miso-grilled tuna tacos topped with toasted sesame slaw and Sriracha cream; short rib chili --- beef short rib, white bean chili and jalapeño corn pancakes; or house-made potato chips topped with pork chili Colorado, jack cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole and ghost chili crema. Unexpected variations include a BLT slider with bacon marmalade and fried green tomato and chicken and french toast (fried chicken tenders, almond french toast and maple syrup). More than 70 craft beers are stocked, including six from local breweries such as Crafthaus Evocation Saison and Tenaya Creek Bonanza Brown Ale. Save room for skillet s’mores: warm chocolate & toasted marshmallows on cinnamon graham cracker cookies.
