| It’s a fairly well. kept secret: The only Indonesian restaurant in San Diego County is on a downtown La Jolla side street. It’s a beauty, too, jam. packed with Balinese art and artifacts arranged in a soothing, softly lit setting. The menu is large, but we always go for the Dutch-inspired rijstafel, as satisfying as it is filling. This feast of many small dishes opens with soup and appetizers, which guests season to their liking with various sambals and relishes. The main event is stewed, curried and skewered beef, lamb and chicken served with a variety of sauces and condiments and, of course, rice. |
