| Named for Charlotte’s sister city in China, Baoding in Southpark has been a favorite among locals for nearly two decades. Plenty of booth seating, deep purple walls and gold silk canopies create a warm dining ambience. The restaurant’s modern spin on traditional Chinese cuisine makes dishes such as Chinese eggplant in garlic sauce appealing to one’s inner foodie. Veggie steamers with your choice of chicken, shrimp or scallops make for a nice lunch while dinner selections such as salt and pepper shrimp and tangerine beef are among Baoding’s more serious offerings. Classic chicken and shrimp egg fu yung in brown gravy and seafood pan-fried noodles are just a few of chef Min Liu’s special dinner entrées. Baoding offers a nice selection of craft beers and features quite a few wines by the glass. |
