Bar Chloe Restaurant Review

: Without a sign and hidden adjacent to a boutique hotel, this small, dimly lit Santa Monica bar is warm and inviting for casual locals during the week and dapper club-goers on the weekend. A white bar top and Deco-style accents and artwork liven up the room. Though the focus is most notably cocktails, dining here is equally worthy. Start with dates wrapped in crispy bacon and stuffed with smoky blue cheese, or a selection of bruschetta with toppings such as avocado and sea salt, tomato and basil, or artichoke hearts and burrata with pistachios. Burgers are of substantial size, made with beef, turkey or vegetables, plus varied ingredients like English cheddar, blue cheese, caramelized onions and bacon. Homemade onion rings make for a hearty, salty pairing for the speakeasy-era cocktails. A Sazerac is expertly crafted, evocative of the New Orleans staple, while "The Elixir" is a touch softer, with a mixture of gin, green chartreuse, agave and lemon juice. There are a few beers, as well as a limited list of drier-style wines, most of which are European.
