THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Barcello's Restaurant Review:
Sweets & Savories chef-owner David Richards transformed this longtime Bucktown pizza joint into one sophisticated pie spot. Orange and exposed brick walls give way to a hard-to-ignore conversation piece: a citrus-hued Vespa that adorns the small dining room. Dishes are a broad mix, from individual starters to tapas to entrées that are large enough for two. Our money’s on the pork and peach pizza, a smoky blend of pulled pig, sweet peaches and zippy pomegranate barbecue sauce. Pastas are fine, too; the delicate raviolo with truffled potato purée, oozy egg yolk and white truffle oil is earthy, silky and utterly decadent. Service leaves a lot to be desired, though. The BYOB policy (no corkage fee) makes us a bit forgiving---for now.
