This Brooklyn restaurant has done something few (surprisingly) have attempted before: elevate that ultimate New York staple of street food, the hot dog. Meet Brandon Gillis (from nearby pizza standout, Franny’s) and Josh Sharkey (late of Café Grey) whose mission succeeds in succulent ways. The long hot dogs, which fall far outside the bun, are taut and snap with juicy goodness on the first bite. In this sense, it doesn’t quite matter what you get on top, but especially noteworthy is the oak-aged sauerkraut or the cheddar-bacon combo. Be sure to add a side of onion rings and wash it all down with a pint of Sixpoint ale.
