THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Barolo Ristorante Restaurant Review:
Under the very talented eye of chef/owner Enzo Fargione, lush Italian meals unfold in this small upstairs restaurant. Close to Capitol Hill, it has become a favorite of politicos, and its not unlikely that youll spot the Secret Service scoping out the place. Partners with DC superchef Roberto Donna, Fargione puts a twist on authentic Piedmontese dishes. Although the menu changes daily to keep up with market freshness, you may find such delicacies as these triumphs: roasted artichoke hearts with basil sauce or arugula and radicchio salad dressed with goat cheese. Entrées include a stunning pappardelle pasta with Gorgonzola cheese sauce or grilled rack of veal with port wine. Ask about desserts---such as a strudel, Piedmontese style or a raspberry panna cotta---and splurge, if you still have room.
