This Foggy Bottom Cajun/Creole destination vies with other city faves such as Acadiana, bringing to the nation’s capital yet another Southern-eats experience. Drinks and spirits more than the food may be the main draw here, and there’s Big Easy music, too. When you stop by, you might as well grab an oyster po’ boy, or for a change of pace, a catfish, barbecue shrimp or turkey version and a cup of gumbo. The noted dessert is this calorie-catcher: bread pudding with a bourbon caramel sauce. Lots of smoking-hot New Orleans cocktails will fuel the fun.
