With plush retro diner booths and a dimly lit ambience, this East Village lounge-eatery is a choice spot for a long night of drink-swilling. But the sedate mixed crowd of downtown hipsters and uptown haute-lovers know to head straight outside to the enclosed patio. Some say the B-Bar's moment has passed (stuck somewhere in the late '90s), but we think this is still a swanky place to sip a martini (the long list includes some creative concoctions like watermelon and ginger). The Tuesday night gay-themed Beige is one of the hottest events in the city---good luck getting in.
