bb's Restaurant Review: Serving a synergistic menu of Pan-Asian, Caribbean and Southwestern cuisines, popular bb's doesn't accept reservations, but if you call an hour ahead of time, you will be put on a wait list. Once you get seated in the modern, industrial-looking restaurant, start with the signature appetizers: almond-crusted calamari alongside an Asian vegetable salad, smoked salmon and apple quesadillas with goat cheese and pumpkin-kissed pesto, or polenta sticks dipped in a blue cheese vinaigrette. Highlights from the dinner menu include sea bass with ratatouille vegetables, smoked tomato butter and black truffle oil; and the black pepper-goat cheese ravioli tossed with rock shrimp in a lobster cream sauce. Under each entrée, a wine is suggested from the more than 60 by-the-glass choices. After dinner, a server guides the table to the dessert case where it's difficult to leave empty-handed. Dessert portions are huge---plan to share or bring home leftovers. |
