| With windows dominating its quaint white façade and a relaxed atmosphere pervading its interior, Beach House Café recalls a seaside retreat. Only the avenue view and the absence of sand beneath your feet keep you anchored in Old Greenwich. In the Oval Bar, sky-blue and pale sea foam hues and a smattering of grassy marsh plants further the shoreline motif, while black-on-white cushions and murals add vaguely urban touches of modernity to the dining room. The menu follows suit, keeping the contemporary coastal American fare invitingly simple. Begin with the crispy calamari frisée, a calamari and salad combination with avocado and sambal dressing. Explore the fruits of the sea further and taste the seared scallops, served with a sweet corn and sinewy crab risotto, or the steamed mussels with white wine and garlic that come with a side of garlic bread good for soaking up the flavorful sauce. You would be remiss not to try the clam roll, laden with whole bellies only, of course. |
