| The Beach House has stood the test of time as a reliable on-the-beach restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although the dishes won't send you into foodie heaven, everything is rather good and the service is usually first-rate. The big wow here is the striking view and the sight of crashing waves, especially from the second floor patio. The white, high wood ceilings are a reminder of Laguna's artistic cottage-style past. As for the menu, breakfast items are sumptuous, such as filet mignon Benedict; seafood crêpes; and a crab, avocado and Brie omelet. Lunch is a mini version of the dinner menu, featuring classic sandwiches and burgers. In-the-know locals come here for reasonably priced "sunset specials" of lobster, steak and the signature sand dabs amandine. Dinner is more formal; seafood is highlighted on the vast menu. Sunday brunch is an à la carte affair with Champagne, Bloody Mary drinks, fresh juices, martinis, tropical cocktails and menu offerings taken from signature items on the breakfast and lunch menus. |
