 This is one of the most romantic spots on the Malibu coast, with wide views of the surf from a pretty flowered patio in warm weather, and wide windows and a great stone fireplace for chilly nights. The serious French-Mediterranean cooking is pleasant. Try the Italian branzino (sea bass) grilled with herbs or the rack of lamb stuffed with mushroom purée and served with a fresh mint sauce. The wines pay attention to details and we like the atmosphere in sun or sunset. The mood is that of a villa on the Riviera, and the hospitality is effusive and welcoming. There's also a charmingly gothic wine cellar for private parties.
