THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bel Frites Restaurant Review: There are fries, and then there are Belgian fries. At Bel Frites, that’s all they do---aside from chicken strips, presumably for the younger set---and they do it right, using a 12-hour process to get the right combination of crispy outside and baked-potato tender inside. Toppings and dipping sauces run the gamut from simple sea salt to Cajun chili essence, and wasabi sour cream to smoky chipotle aïoli. You can also enjoy several bottled Belgian beers and ales, including Duvel. The atmosphere varies, especially since it’s open late to cater to the downtown bar crowd.
