THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Belle Arti Restaurant Review:
Belle Arti occupies a unique corner of downtown Napa, bringing country, trattoria charm to the Valley, and, in fact, has become a local hangout for many industry locals, as well as visitors. Try for a romantic table outside, overlooking the Napa River. Chef-owner Rosario Patti, ex of New York, provides Napa Valley customers with his brand of Sicilian-style cuisine. Nightly specials, such as Pepati---an assortment of mussels, clams and shrimp covered with garlic, oil and fresh tomato---oftentimes outnumber set items on the small menu. Belle Arti offers a variety of colorful antipasti, insalatas, pastas and hearty entrées, plus diners may choose tasty fish dishes including a delicately breaded swordfish. The wine list leans heavily toward Italian varietals, especially reds, but also offers a selection of unique local wines. The dessert menu is limited but worth a taste, especially the tiramisu, and the fantastic New York cheesecake---possibly the best to be found in California. Belle Arti is to be enjoyed with friends who are beyond glitz, and simply want to enjoy fine food in a relaxed atmosphere. This 40 seat restaurant takes no reservations, and remains a hidden treasure.
