Belle Clementine Restaurant Review: With the feel of a private dinner party, chef David Sanford’s charming restaurant gives communal dining a fresh new focus. The minimally decorated but cozy storefront has just three tables with 36 seats. There's one seating at 7 p.m. featuring a simple but well-prepared four-course menu of seasonally-inspired dishes. At $40 per person, which includes a glass of wine and gratuity, dinner is a bargain. No one leaves hungry, although don’t expect hearty courses. Dishes have included rabbit rillette on toast with red onion jam, an arugula and chickweed salad, and a lovely soup of white beans, kale, turnips and bits of sausage. Dessert featured D'Anjou pears poached in apple cider and spices, served over slices of Meyer lemon olive oil cake christened with caramel sauce. The brief, affordable wine list has a Northwest focus. Weekend diners will enjoy the 11 a.m. Sunday brunch for $20 per person. |
