: Lello Arpaia, one of New York's premier Italian restaurateurs for the past 25 years, is strictly in the background of sleek Bellini. His daughter, Donatella, runs the restaurant. The setting is rich in blonde good looks with white brick arches and unglazed tile floors. Guests are well-cared for and Bellini's taste-focused menu will please anyone. Golosillni quattro formaggi (homemade ricotta-and-spinach dumplings in a four-cheese sauce, a Bellini original) is a true show-stopper. Desserts shine, whether tiramisu enclosed in slabs of dark chocolate streaked with white chocolate or moist Amaretto cake on a white plate with a knife and fork image outlined in cocoa. Many winning small touches reveal the Arpaia family's renowned hospitality skills.
