The Belvedere Room Restaurant Review

: The Belvedere Room, the fine dining restaurant of the historic, smartly renovated Padre Hotel, features 20-foot ceilings, tufted wall panels and vintage-style lamps. Executive chef Darrell Jensen offers a menu of California cuisine emphasizing local and seasonal ingredients. Starters include the likes of marinated trout with horseradish potato salad or seared duck risotto; move on to filet mignon with béarnaise, pork rib-eye with cabbage-apple slaw and cheese grits, or venison loin with raisin-peppercorn sauce. The wine list has a global orientation, and the professional service reinforces that this is a place to celebrate a special occasion or to close an important business deal. A Champagne Sunday brunch buffet includes a “bottomless” shrimp cocktail, breakfast egg and pancake standards, hand-carved meats and a dessert station.
