Bertucci's Brick Oven Pizzeria Restaurant Review: It can be easy to forget that Bertucci's is part of a chain, with its aura of a neighborhood joint. Its broadly appealing menu of both classic and exotic wood-fired pizzas and a wide array of Italian specialties ensures there’s something for everyone. Ask for a ball of pizza dough to keep kids entertained after you order. Creative twists on classics include appetizers like the grilled shrimp, composed of balsamic marinated shrimp, crispy polenta, pomodoro and pickled red onions; and the Tuscan chicken wings, which are marinated in lemon and rosemary then grilled, touted as a "Bertucci’s original." Not everything is hearty, though. There are lighter options such as the seasonal spinach, goat cheese, walnut and grilled shrimp salad in Parmesan peppercorn dressing. Well-executed main dishes include grilled salmon topped with basil pesto and marinated tomatoes, as well as the classic chicken Parmigiana served over spaghetti. Dine family-style if you wish. Finish the meal with the creamy cannolis if your appetite permits; in any case, it's all better when shared.
