Big Bowl Restaurant Review: Modern Big Bowl brings Asian noodles to the masses with a quirky sense of humor. The fresh and bright Galleria outpost is lively and fun, and reading the wise-cracking menu is a good time in itself. Kids will like the ingredient bar, which lets them pick their own meat, vegetables and sauce before turning it over to one of the chefs frantically working the woks in the steamy open kitchen. Among entrées, try the kung pao chicken and clay pot shrimp panang curry. Standout appetizers include the vegetable pot stickers, Chinese chicken lettuce wraps, and Gulf shrimp summer rolls. One downside? Spicy dishes could be a lot spicier---even when we've asked to be scorched we've received barely any heat. In any case, vegetarians and health-conscious diners---especially those who avoid gluten---will be at home. |
