Big Cheese Restaurant Review: Cheese is undeniably comfort food and the Big Cheese offers just that. But it's part-skim Grande, a quality Wisconsin-made cheese, not bufala. Don't expect authentic Italian wood-oven pies. Pizzas are definitely hefty Italian-American-style creations, overloaded with an abundance of pepperoni, meatballs, pineapple, grilled chicken breast, and similar suburban favorites. The kitchen also offers "red sauce joint" standards like lasagna and meatball subs, plus some salads and typical bar bites (fried chicken fingers, etc.). Only a mile or so from the University of Miami, the restaurant pays homage to the college's sports teams with posters and autographed photos that fill the room with hometown spirit, and students. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere laid-back and homey.
