| Long before the hip decided to settle here, Judy “The Beauty” On Duty Forman started serving hearty breakfasts and lunches at Big Kitchen. Photos and eclectic artwork line the walls, including shots of Big Kitchen's most famous former dishwasher, Whoopi Goldberg. A wild, dedicated crowd from tattooed bikers and fashionistas to grannies and young families flock to Big Kitchen for oversize omelets, fluffy pancakes, house-baked muffins and coffeecake. We like the tofu rancheros and AC3 omelet stuffed with avocado, cream cheese and chives. Lunch means big salads, homemade soups, chili, meatloaf sandwiches and tasty burgers. The place is small and crowded, but the mood is so cheerful that one doesn't seem to mind. A good choice for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. |
