| Outer Clement Street is not the place most look to for swanky downtown digs and a Cal-Med small plates menu. Good thing, because Bill's Place isn't anything like that. Instead, a strikingly un-hip brown commandeers the décor, and devoted locals come for the straightforward diner fare and honest, small-town conviviality. Two eggs with hash browns is the must-order at breakfast, while hamburgers (made from freshly ground beef chuck) rule the rest of the day. Some burger names tout the more infamous characters of this city's past. On those rarest of rare sunny days, try the patio. |
