Bistecca (located under the rotunda of Scottsdale Fashion Square) is a lovely space; Dark wood sets the scene and the wine bar fills both sides of the entrance, floor to ceiling. Booths and tables highlight the semi-open kitchen. Steaks and chops paired with pastas offer the best of Florentine cooking. Whole leaf Caesar salad with Parmesan crostini starts you off, followed by grilled Gulf shrimp with Tuscan bean salad or ravioli of potato and quattro formaggi with marinated tomatoes, thyme and shaved Parmesan. Or opt for hand-made garganelli with rock shrimp Bolognese for a taste of Italy. Chops might come with a peach and sour cherry conserve and steaks may be seasoned with sea salt, wild oregano, grilled lemon and parsley or balsamic vinegar. Salmon and halibut are on the menu as are sides of sautéed spinach, roasted mushrooms and garlic new potatoes. After shopping, this is a nice restaurant to relax and enjoy a good meal.
