THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bistrot Le Zinc Restaurant Review:

This intimate but not-quite-cozy eatery is located in a neighborly area of upper Northwest DC. The concept is appealing --- what began as an all-French menu has evolved to include some classic American dishes. But the execution is lacking: a steak salad swims in a whole-grain mustard dressing and sports four slices of too-tough steak; the lemon tart, which should be simply oozing a creamy lemon filling, offers only a mere tablespoon or so, and not even enough to get much of a taste. However, the roasted tomato soup is a real winner with its texture and the undercurrent of cheese. Other dishes include a stuffed avocado salad and steamed mussels. The decent wine list, too, has appeal.
