Bistrotheque Restaurant Review

: The place looks right for the area; it’s an industrial ex-factory building with a first floor restaurant with whitewashed walls and bistro-style seating enlivened with flower arrangements. There’s entertainment in the form of cabaret, and you can book for either the restaurant or for a set-price meal and entertainment. The clientele is fashionable East End, i.e., a comfortable step up from cutting-edge. Starters range from smoked trout with fennel, avocado and chipotle salad or roast squid, and mains run to fish ‘n’ chips, and half roast chicken with garlic. Go for the lemon posset with blackberries and shortbread for dessert. The whole place buzzes, there’s live piano music and a feeling of wellbeing which is most seductive. Set dinner 3 courses £19; £35 including entrance to cabaret show; 3-course Sat., Sun. lunch £22.
