| Casual and fun, this unpretentious eatery serves up deep-dish pizzas and pasta, as well as California-style salads and sandwiches; it's definitely a cut above the other chain offerings that populate this part of town. Go for the grilled chicken-stuffed potato, hearty meatball sub or blackened chicken sandwich. Meat lovers will enjoy the BJ's Favorite pizza (with meatballs, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, black olives and white onions), while vegetarians may prefer the spinach and artichoke pie accented with fresh basil. We aren't sold on the jambalaya but the halibut tacos are a fine option. Desserts seem to revolve around massive cookies, especially a creation called the pizookie---an oven-baked, deep-dish cookie (you can choose between chocolate chunk, white chocolate macadamia nut, peanut butter and oatmeal raisin) topped with vanilla bean ice cream. Other variations include cookies and cream and Ghirardelli triple chocolate pizookies. BJ’s has seven handcrafted house brews for your tasting pleasure, and offers specialty beers throughout the year. |
