Black Market Bistro Restaurant Review:

First there was Addie's in Rockville, then came Black's in Bethesda and Black Market Bistro, part of a restaurant family owned by Barbara and Jeff Black. This latter location takes aim at the commuter crowd. Housed right next to the MARC tracks, the reconverted and updated Victorian house with sweeping side lawns, shading trees and a tennis court is the axis for the small suburban community known as Garrett Park. Black Market Bistro makes it easy on working moms and dads, and anyone else who needs a food or caffeine fix during the day or a take-away meal at night. Lunch and dinner offerings are solidly familiar and include pizzas, entrée salads, sandwiches and heartier mains. Brunch consists of the usual suspects: buttermilk pancakes, scrambled eggs or orange-vanilla bean french toast. But you will find sturdier fare, too, such as the Black Market burger with several cheese options and the fried chicken sandwich with arugula. Dessert choices are few, but other portions are ample.
