It’s big, boisterous and boldly fashionable. And that’s just the beginning. Let’s start with the menu, a paper chart of a cow diagrammed to show its various cuts. On the flip side, the full menu takes you on a gastronomic journey with periwinkle appetizers from the raw bar to a three-pound broiled Maine lobster, and as a special treat, customers are served piping hot popovers. You can opt for genuine Japanese Kobe beef or the slightly less expensive American Wagyu beef cuts. You can also get your beef fix from a mere hamburger, here served with special fries. The lunch menu features assorted salads, artistically seasoned and constructed, and a selection of sandwiches served with sizzling hot fries heaped up in a cone. You’ll probably want to extend your meal at BLT just so you can continue to soak up the glamour of this power place. As for dessert, we recommend the cheesecake, always a fine partner to any meal. But you can opt for fresh fruit or a cheese selection before heading back into Washington’s crush. You may be lucky to find a table without reservations, but don’t bet on it.
