THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Blue Marlin Restaurant Review:
Despite its all-American fish house name and décor, this strip mall joint is very Japanese. One look at the pasta toppings gives you an idea of the clever mélanges of inventive ingredients in contemporary Japanese cooking: eggplant with wild mushrooms, sea urchin with spinach, and barbecued eel with mushrooms and sansai (Japanese mountain vegetables), among others. You’ll also find everyday Japanese home-style cooking---croquettes, roast salmon with sweet miso, pork cutlets and about a dozen varieties of curry rice.
